The basics
These terms are the agreement between you and CodeFizz when you subscribe to CodeFizz Editor Agent. By subscribing you are agreeing to them. If there is anything here you are not comfortable with, the right move is to not subscribe, or to email me first so we can talk it through.
What you are paying for
CodeFizz Editor Agent is an Unreal Engine 5 plugin that exposes the editor over the Model Context Protocol. A subscription gives you the plugin binary for the supported engine versions, ongoing updates while you are subscribed, and the perks listed for your tier on the pricing page. Today the plugin ships for Windows 64 bit and supports UE 5.6, 5.7 & 5.8. Other platforms are demand driven and are not promised until they exist.
Your license to use the plugin
You get a personal, non exclusive license to use the plugin inside your own Unreal projects, including games and other work you sell. You can install it on the machines you work on. What you cannot do is share the binary or your license key with other people, resell or sublicense it, or pass it around as if it were yours to give away. The license is for you and your work, not for redistribution.
What your subscription includes
A subscription gives you the compiled Pro plugin binaries and the cfa CLI, not the Pro source code. A separate free, open-source community edition is available publicly if you want source for the basic feature set.
Earning a permanent license
A subscription earns you ownership, not just access. Once you have paid for twelve months, the version of the plugin you have at that point becomes permanently yours: cancel whenever you like afterwards and it keeps running on your machines, with no further payment, ever. Annual plans reach that point with their first payment, since they cover twelve months up front.
Before you reach twelve months, your access runs alongside your subscription, so it pauses if the subscription lapses and resumes the moment you resubscribe. Months add up across separate subscriptions; they do not have to be consecutive.
Cancelling always stops new releases, the private Discord channels, the roadmap board, and any tier specific perks, whether or not you have earned a permanent license. Lifetime Pro is permanent from the first day and is the only plan that never stops receiving updates.
If you subscribed before 5 August 2026, your original terms still apply: the build you have keeps working after you cancel regardless of how long you subscribed. That is not affected by anything above.
License activation and revocation
The plugin is activated by signing in with your CodeFizz account from the free cfa CLI (cfa login), which authorizes this machine for your subscription or trial. You may also use a license key from your account for legacy activation. Activation needs an internet connection once, and after that the plugin keeps working offline for a long grace period and only re-checks occasionally, so being offline or behind a firewall does not lock you out. Your license is for you, and using it across your own machines is fine. If a license is found being shared publicly, posted on a piracy site, or otherwise abused, I may revoke it, which stops that license from working. Honest use is never a problem.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly through Polar Software, Inc. as the Merchant of Record. Polar charges your card, adds any tax that applies where you live, and sends your receipt. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from the customer portal with no need to email anyone.
Refunds
Subscriptions are not refundable as a rule, because the moment you pay you receive a download and a license key. That said, if something is genuinely broken I will make it right. The full details, including how regional consumer rights apply, live on the refund policy page.
Fair use and the community
Use the plugin for honest work. Do not try to crack, repackage, or resell it, and do not use it to build anything illegal. The Discord server has its own short set of rules, and being decent to other members is part of the deal. I can suspend access for anyone who abuses the community or breaks these terms in a serious way.
Updates and availability
I improve the plugin regularly and the feature set will change over time. I try hard to avoid breaking things, but I cannot promise that every future release will behave exactly like the one before it. The website and the services around it are provided as they are, and while I aim to keep everything online, I do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime.
No warranty
The plugin is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. I have built it carefully and use it myself, but I cannot promise it will be free of bugs or fit for every possible use. You are responsible for testing it in your own project before relying on it for anything important.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, CodeFizz is not liable for indirect or consequential losses that come from using or being unable to use the plugin, such as lost work, lost profit, or project delays. If I am ever found liable for something, that liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the issue. Nothing here removes rights you have under the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change I will update this page and the date at the top, and I will give subscribers a heads up through Discord or email when the change is significant. Carrying on with your subscription after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator of CodeFizz is based, without regard to conflict of law rules. If a dispute cannot be sorted out by talking it through, it will be handled by the courts of that place. Payment disputes may also involve Polar under their own buyer terms.
Contact
Questions about these terms go to contact@codefizz.dev. I would much rather answer a question before you subscribe than leave you guessing.
